First round of broadband stimulus money released

$4 billion in ARRA loans and grants has been made available to expand or deploy broadband internet service in unserved or underserved sections of the country.  The $4 billion is the first installment of the $7.2 billion provided in the Recovery Act for expanded access to high-speed internet services.

Recovery.gov site asks how to become more transparent and accountable

On April 27th the recovery.gov site – set up to provide information about how federal, state, and local agencies are expending and/or using stimulus funds – opened an online discussion.   The discussion site closes on May 3rd.  See http://www.thenationaldialogue.org/
